Literacy In Writing class, we have been writing First Nation's Legends. The students are writing multiple drafts and are focusing on using good descriptive words (making use of a thesaurus). The students are also continuing to work on their passion projects. Passion Projects are projects that allow students to learn about topics of interest to them. Some students have created website and are trying to teach other's about their topics. Other students are interviewing other people to learn about future career interests. The topics are extremely varied, as are the products that are coming out. Because we are so busy with our writing tasks at present, we have put Book Clubs on hold. I can't emphasise enough however, how important it is to keep up with nightly reading. Students in grade 5 should be doing no less than 30 minutes per day. The students can still go to the library to get new books as needed. Homework French: Sign and return assessment package.
