Please return all orders by Wednesday. These orders help me to purchase additional items for our class. Thank you!! Review Matter Please watch this short video to review what matter is. Zones of Regulation We have been talking about our feelings and how to best handle stress. We brainstormed a number of strategies like deep breathing, walking away, asking for help and using stress jars. We then made stress jars to practice using and calming ourselves down. Please discuss what strategies you feel are best with your parents. Ask for their opinions and strategies too. Homework

Due: Monday Read 30 minutes French/Music: Bring in a binder and duotang Math Today we practised trying to convince others that we have created specific shapes when folding a piece of paper. We did really well with making and convincing others during the first two questions, but did not really get to the third question. Please complete the third question and return it to school on Monday. Don't forget to start with a square piece of paper. 1. Construct a square with exactly ¼ the area of the original square. Convince your partner that it is a square and has ¼ of the area. 2. Construct a triangle with exactly ¼ the area of the original square. Convince your partner that it has ¼ of the area. 3. Construct another triangle, also with ¼ the area, that is not congruent to the first one you constructed. Convince your partner that it has ¼ of the area. Kids Kitchen Orders for Kids Kitchen went out today. Lunches begin on Monday. Go to Kid's Kitchen to place your order. Scholastic Scholastic orders went out today. Getting to Know Your Child - Parent Survey Please click on the link Getting to Know Your Child - Parent Survey and complete the survey as soon as you can. This information will help me to better know your child and to have updated parent/guardian information so that I can contact you when needed. Please have it completed no later than September 8th. Please read and review the school Start-up Package (at the back there are 3 forms to complete, sign and return). Resources Each child has a book box where they are able to keep a couple of reading books and one pencil case. Any other resources your child has will need to be kept in their bag (at their locker or hook). Please ensure that your child has pencils and a duotang/binder for Music. Computers/Technology In my classroom we use technology a lot. Some students have their own technology (tablets or laptops) and are more than welcome to bring them to class for learning purposes. If your child brings in their technology they are welcome to keep it in the classroom during recesses and lunch to ensure it's safety. Students will their own technology will need to speak to me about the expectations prior to using the device in class. I encourage students to bring in their technology, but also have a few class computers for all students to share. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact me.
