On Monday we will be moving on to our next math unit which involves area, perimeter and volume. This is not a long unit and the students should start to see the connection between multiplication with an array to area (l x w= A). In this unit students will have to demonstrate that they can find the perimeter of shapes and use use the formulas, when calculating A and P for rectangles and squares.
Friday's evaluation will be handed back on Monday and will need to be signed and returned.
The students are starting a new project which will combine Literacy, Science and S.S. They are researching one energy source (examples: nuclear, hydro, wind, coal, fossil fuels, etc.) writing a report on it and then looking into how our government is using this form of energy. We will also, as a class, determine if any further action is needed and contact our government about policies and practices that we might disagree with. It's going to be a busy month!
