Scholastic Orders Due Tomorrow. Thank you for your support!
We are starting our new unit, Summarizing Nonfiction Texts. We will be reading non-fiction texts, identifying the main idea and important information and then writing short concise summaries of the text.
We are continuing our unit on mental math multiplication strategies (e.g. repeated addition, doubling, using patterns, using 10 to solve 9 times tables, commutative property (5x18x2=5x2x18 - which gives you 10x18=180), etc.). We are spending a lot of time on this unit as it is the basis of good mathematical thinking and understanding for future units.
